3D Character Models

"Steve" Magical Mishap
Steve is a character I was tasked with modeling and texturing for the Columbia College 2023 APS film Magical Mishap during the Fall of 2022. First I drew the final 2D concept art by synthesizing several of the ideas that my teammates developed. I used a combination of box modeling and sculpting to create the base mesh and normal map. Afterwards I used Substance Painter to create the textures and rendered a preview turntable and images in Blender. I wanted to go for something more unsettling to better fit the more antagonistic role that Steve fills in the film.
Programs used
Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Blender, Clip Studio Paint

"Magda"
This is a model I made for a character modeling class in the spring of 2021 and later refined spring 2022. First, I created a 2D concept to assist me in modeling this character. I then used a combination of box modeling and sculpting to create both a lower poly model and a higher poly model. Additionally, I created a basic rig to pose the model. I wanted to make something based on fantasy but also wanted something that stood out. I settled on making a dragon biker since the aesthetics clash and mix together in a fun way.
Programs used
Clip Studio Paint, Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter

"Frog" Magical Mishap
This frog is a background character I modeled and textured for the Columbia College 2023 APS film Magical Mishap during the Fall of 2022. The process was similar to Steve in that I started with a 2D concept I drew and then created a model based off it. Both sculpting and box modeling were used and texturing was done in Substance Painter. I dialed in on creating a texture that looked slimy in order to imply that the frog is covered in mucus.
Programs used
Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Blender, Clip Studio Paint

"Shiba Inu Sculpt"
Another Project I created for the Fall 2021 sculpting class. This model was created to be 3d printable and using 2D concept art as a guide. Everything from the sculpting, to the posing, and rendering was done in Zbrush. This model was a challenge since I'm used to starting out with a base model in Maya or Blender and then sculpting in Zbrush. I also wanted to play around with creating stylized fur textures.
Programs used
Clip Studio Paint, ZBrush
